Alison’s main areas of practice are public law litigation and advice, professional disciplinary proceedings, and commercial disputes.
Alison’s recent legal work covers a broad range of areas including public law advice, Marine and Coastal Area (Takutai Moana) claims, employment and other investigations, contract and tort disputes, Coroners’ inquests, and professional regulatory matters involving health practitioners, auditors, teachers, and lawyers. Prior to joining the independent bar in 2021, Alison worked in the litigation departments of large commercial law firms in Wellington and London for eight years and she then completed post-graduate study in the United States.
